The psychedelic experience has the power to transform lives and has been used by our ancient ancestors since the very beginning for the purposes of healing and cultivating connectivity with spirit. You cannot hide from yourself during a psychedelic trip and is the reason why it is considered such a powerfully transformative agent of evolution. As the saying goes, psychedelics wont heal you; they will show you the way and you will heal yourself. Huge breakthroughs of psychological and emotional healing have been achieved through psychedelic experimentation by so many people throughout human history that they are considered by a vast array of worldwide communities to be the most powerful kind of medicine because they can bring about real and lasting healing for people.
At the time of this being written, psychedelics are still illegal in the UK (where I’m currently based) and many other parts of the world. All drugs are not the same and legally classifying them all as such is a truly profound level of injustice for our society, which keeps this powerful medicine from many who would really benefit from its use. Having been proven to be far safer than alcohol, we have to then ask ourselves if psychedelics are not being kept illegal for reasons of our safety, why else are they illegal? The answer is a sad but simple one. They are illegal because they grant alternative and deeper perspectives into one’s own psychology which renders societal and governmental propaganda-brainwashing impotent and much less effective. Because of this, they are treated as a dangerous substance by the state because they undermine the state’s psychological control methods of the masses.
This album’s title track was created as a kind-of musical love letter to the psychedelic experience, having had such a profound and positive effect on my own life over the years. I also use my art to bring public attention to psychedelic-themed perspectives and principles that are often overlooked by many in mainstream western society due to their current illegality.
Making Psychenautika was a genuine and sincere joy for me, I had so much fun experimenting with this particular collection of beats and sounds. It is my sincere hope that you enjoy listening to Psychenautika and experience as much pleasure in doing so as I experienced whilst creating it.
All my love to you, friend. – Beat Mystik
